One of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies, Twelfth Night, is presented, free of charge, in beautiful Veterans Memorial Park in Napa, July 20-29, 2012. Directed by SNV Artistic Director, Jennifer King, Twelfth Night stars award-winning actor, Tim Kniffin, as the beleaguered social climber, Malvolio. Twelfth Night also includes North Bay favorites Tim Setzer as Feste, Chad Yarish as Sir Andrew Aguecheek, Dodds Delzell as Sir Toby Belch and Taylor Bartolucci as Viola.
The story is a sly, gender-bending frolic involving mistaken identity, wrongful incarceration, swordplay and, of course, love won and lost (and won again). Shipwrecked on a rocky coast, Viola, believing her twin brother Sebastian is dead, disguises herself as a boy to protect herself in this strange land. As a “boy,” she finds employment as a servant to the lovesick Duke Orsino. But just as Viola falls in love with her new boss, the beautiful Olivia - who Orsino is courting - finds herself obsessed with this new young man, who's really Viola in disguise. Meanwhile, Sir Toby Belch, along with Sir Andrew Aguecheek, Feste, Fabian and Maria, conspire to enact a hilarious plot of revenge on the pompous servant Malvolio, making him believe Olivia is in love with him. Finally, Sebastian arrives on the scene leading to love and reconciliation.
